New NewBrain Repairs ...
Hi,
After succesfully repairing my NewBrain A (Many thanks to Michael and other forum members for their help), i got 3 faulty NewBrain ADs ...
You can follow the repairprocess here http://www.8bit-homecomputermuseum.at/r … epair.html
And i found out, that the AD Models used the wrong converter for the Vacuum Fluorescent Display (CD-1867N) !!!!! This causes some "ghosting" effect...
The servicemanual contains a patch, where you have to add a zener diode and a resistor in order to reduce the outputvoltage ...
I found the real matching converters (CD-1683N)on the internet and bought 10 pieces... hope they arrive soon ...
Greetings TOM:-)
PS: If you own a faulty NewBrain, feel free to contact me :-)
